History

Established in 1989, Capoeira Batuque is the longest standing Capoeira school in Southern California. Since opening our doors, Brasil Brasil Cultural Center has spread its wings and is also currently offering Samba and Zumba classes as well as Drumming and Portuguese classes. We also host monthly culture events which are open to the community and a real treat. Join the Fun!
Meet the Business Owner: Mestre Amen S.

Mestre Amen Santo founded Capoeira Batuque and Brasil Brasil Cultural Center in 1989 in Southern California.  He is currently a Proffesor at UCLA’s theater department (since 2002) and his dance company, Ballet Folclorico Do Brasil, has been collaborating with The Music Center’s educational division since 2000 performing at schools in the greater Los Angeles area.  Mestre Amen has been very dedicated to sharing his dynamic Afro-Brazlian culture with the world.
